DBT Skills Group

Dialectical Behavior Therapy focuses on helping people accept the reality of their lives and their behaviors, as well as, helping them learn to change their lives, including their unhelpful behaviors. This skills based group walks through a new skill each week with exercises to practice throughout the week. There are 4 sections in the workbook: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. Members can joining the group at any point. It generally takes about 6 months to go through the entire workbook.

We do ask that each group member is also working with a therapist individually. That therapist does not need to be at CPC. For more details, email Jon Tinniswood: jtinniswood@cpcmemphis.net.
