Liz Wells, MA, MS,
Doctoral Psychology Intern
Liz holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Boston. She completed her Master of Science in Psychology and will finish her Ph.D. in Psychology at The University of Memphis in May. Her most recent training placements were at the Center for Developmental Disabilities and in the Clinical Neuropsychology Department at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.
A diagnostician at heart, Liz specializes in the comprehensive assessment of children and adolescents. She pays particular attention to neurodevelopmental concerns and to how brain functioning shapes learning, behavior, and emotional well-being. She values giving families a clear picture of their child's strengths and needs, along with practical recommendations they can use at home and at school.
Liz's perspective has also been shaped by her life outside the clinic. She lived overseas for many years. She grew up alongside many foster children and later raised children of her own. Both experiences continue to teach her a great deal about how children grow and what families need. In her free time, Liz enjoys spending time with her many children and many animals, learning languages, reading, and being outdoors.
