Janice AndersonJan Anderson received her Master’s in Counseling from the University of Memphis. Prior to joining CPC, she worked as a therapist for La Paloma Treatment Center, a residential treatment center for adults with co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance abuse).

At CPC, Jan works with adults and couples in a general clinical practice treating a variety of individual and relationship problems, including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, adjustment issues, sexual orientation issues, addiction, and what is known as ‘process addiction’ (issues around sex, eating, spending, gambling). Her goal is to help clients sort through what has happened or is happening in their lives, to see where they are ‘stuck,’ and to help them put into practice strategies for change.

Jan typically uses a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and narrative therapy. Additionally, Jan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a method used in treating trauma.
